Our Mission and Vision

AVA Visioning and Transformational Change Process

In August 2003, The Association for Volunteer Administration began a Visioning and Transformational Change Process, authorized by the board of directors. AVA hired The Summit Planning Group to guide and facilitate this very important effort. A Planning Task Force, representing diverse backgrounds and points of view, was assembled to define the strengths and weaknesses in AVA and its operating environment and to work through a visioning process. 

Hundreds of members were involved through focus groups and participation in the annual meeting. The Planning Task Force incorporated these thoughts and ideas into their recommendations. Recommendations from the Planning Task Force were submitted to the AVA board of directors. In February 2004, the board approved the following vision and mission for AVA.

AVA  Mission

The Association for Volunteer Administration advances volunteerism and enhances quality of life locally and globally by engaging leaders of volunteers through professional development, networking, and quality products and services.
