CREATING SOCIAL INCLUSION THROUGH VOLUNTEERING

Session Description: This session will examine some of the attempts being made in North America and across the world for enabling previously excluded groups – people with disabilities, immigrants, ethnic minorities and others to become a more productive part of the social and economic fabric of their communities.

Learning Objectives:
1. Examine the effects and extent of social inclusion
2. Discuss methods by which volunteering can provide a pathway for involving previously excluded populations
3. Analyze how social inclusion through volunteering can become a part of participants' programs
