IF I WANT YOUR OPINION, I'LL ASK FOR IT: Designing Volunteer Opinion Surveys

Regi Mezydlo, Brookfield Zoo, Illinois

Session Description: Volunteers often give us their opinions, many times unsolicited!  How can we use their thoughts to better inform our program structures?  In this workshop, we will discuss how Brookfield Zoo designed and administered two comprehensive, multi-page opinion surveys.  The results from those surveys drove both short- and long-term programmatic goals.

Learning Objectives:
1. Design a specifically-based, measurable opinion survey
2. Administer the survey to their volunteers
3. Implement, and discuss with their volunteers, programmatic changes based on results

Level:  Intermediate
Conference Theme(s): Opportunity, Reflection
