Session Description: Contemporary volunteer administrators must effectively manage risks in volunteer-based programs.  This session will introduce participants to five universal risk management strategies used in Program development and focus upon the critical roles of effective volunteer selection and training Procedures, and Policy development.

1. Increase knowledge of volunteer risk management strategies
2. Increase knowledge of volunteer selection and training procedures
3. Demonstrate a more positive attitude toward volunteer risk management
4. Indicate plans to strengthen/expand their program’s/organization’s usage of volunteer risk management strategies
