Goals for 2002 Scholarship
Program
-
AVA strongly supports empowering the individuals applying for
scholarships by encouraging them to seek support and matching
financial assistance through their organization or other
sources.
-
AVA and the 2002 Conference Committee are committed to
encouraging participation from current members who have
demonstrated an interest in, and a commitment to, their personal
development in the profession of volunteer
administration.
- AVA sees the conference scholarship process not only as a
means to provide financial assistance but also as a means to
support the association mission of enhancing the competence of its
members and strengthening the profession of volunteer resources
management. This is accomplished
through:
1. The preparation of the application
and the assessment conducted by the applicant in order to answer
the
questions. 2. The request for follow-up reporting by the
scholarship recipient and the potential for that information to be
published by AVA.
