Jo Dawn Newlon, Women in Community Service, Colorado Session Description: This workshop will afford participants the opportunity to explore ways in which to enlist youth in jeopardy using Youth Development philosophy thus allowing growth, developing community pride and ownership that will transition into adult volunteering commitment. Learning Objectives: 1. Participants will leave the session being able to put into practice turning a volunteer experience into an opportunity to instill self-confidence as well as community commitment 2. Participants will leave the session being able to assist youth in identifying their personal assets and how they can bring those assets to a volunteer role 3. Participants will leave the session with a tool that will assist them in recruiting and retaining youth to their volunteer base Level:  Basic-Intermediate Conference Theme(s): Community, Opportunity
