VOLUNTEERISM AND PATRIOTISM: A Winning Combination

Session Description: History depicts a strong relationship between patriotism and volunteerism.  This workshop will focus on ways that volunteer administrators can connect the work of their organization with the community through patriotism.  Recruitment, marketing and motivational strategies will be explored and shared.

Learning Objectives:
1. Understand how national and international disaster and acts of war impact volunteer recruitment
2. Learn how patriotism and motivation are inextricably connected
3. Identify ways to involve non-traditional audiences as "patriotic volunteers"
4. Apply the information presented to their own volunteer programs and develop volunteer recruitment and marketing strategies which capitalize upon patriotism
