Session Description: With competition rising even for volunteers, the role of the volunteer manager has become more vital than ever to retain and develop this valuable resource.  Learn how adult learning is intimately connected to the volunteer experience.  Participants will reflect on the use of adult learning in their management practices and the various educator roles they take on in the context of the non-profit sector.

1. Understand the relationship between adult learning and volunteering
2. Learn how adult learning is applied within the voluntary sector
3. Understand the relationship between volunteer manager and volunteer in the context of educator and learner
4. Learn the various educator types and how to utilize these perspectives to motivate and retain volunteers
