Saturday, October 12, 2002, 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. VOLUNTEER AND PAID STAFF PARTNERSHIPS: The Sum is Greater Than the Parts Nancy McKelvey, American Red Cross, Washington, DC Vivian Littlefield, Consultant, WI, USA Session Description: Participants will be invited to enter the American Red Cross world of Volunteer-Employee Partnerships.  They will be introduced to some of these partnerships and learn how to develop and sustain a partnership and explore common pitfalls and successes.  Participants will have opportunities to develop strategies for partnering at their organization. Learning Objectives: 1. Relate strengths and potential weaknesses of a partnership between a paid staff member and a volunteer 2. Identify at least three strategies for initiating employee-volunteer partnership in their organization 3. Develop evaluation mechanisms for measuring outcomes of volunteer-paid staff partnerships Level:  Intermediate Conference Themes: Opportunity
