USING NEW TECHNOLOGIES TO CONNECT PEOPLE, PLACES AND PROGRAMS

Session Description: This session will explore technologies readily available for volunteer programs and discuss advantages and barriers of each.  Technologies to be covered include: e-mail, interactive multimedia packaging (CD ROM/DVD), Web-base training, and virtual volunteering.  Interactive dialogue, small/total group discussion, audio/visual and computer assisted delivery will be used to engage participants.

Learning Objectives:
1. Increase knowledge of new technologies available to volunteer programs
2. Increase knowledge of the “digital divides” we encounter in our work
3. Indicate plans to utilize at least one new technology, or an existing technology in a new manner
