VOLUNTEER MOBILIZATION IN LOW-INCOME COMMUNITIES:  Building Effective Partnerships

Session Description: Learn how to mobilize residents of low-income communities, an often untapped group of prospective volunteers.  This training will develop the capacity of participants and their organizations to serve these communities and to work with their residents to solve community problems and strengthen families.

Learning Objectives:
1. Increase participant awareness of the misconceptions and myths that cloud understanding of low-income communities
2. Increase participant awareness of the opportunities in low-income communities
3. Increase participant knowledge of the steps to working effectively in low-income communities
4. Increase participant interest in working with low-income communities
5. Develop participant plans to work in low-income communities
