BEYOND THE BUDGET: Forming Strategic Partnerships Within Your Community

Session Description: This session will provide participants an opportunity to examine the economic and social benefits of forming partnerships with individuals and organizations.  Participants will learn the process of how to move from establishing partnerships into creating successful collaborations through shared vision, building strong teams and sharing significant resources.

Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will learn the effective steps to forming strategic partnerships, including conducting a community scan, identifying their own capacity and resources, identifying potential partners, negotiation and evaluation.
2. Teams of participants will take part in a hands on simulation in which they will put these theories into place.
3. Each team will measure their own success during every round of the simulation.
4. The participants will walk away with practical tools and knowledge of how to achieve success, by increasing capacity, leveraging resources and providing social and economic benefits to their communities through strategic partnerships.
