Proclamation for Colorado Volunteer Administrator Day

Whereas, community organization, non-profit groups and public agencies throughout the State of Colorado support volunteering by providing citizens with opportunities to be volunteers in a wide variety of community endeavors, and

Whereas, Volunteering adds to and enhances the collective resources of the state and local communities, and

Whereas, organization s and corporate sponsors who are willing to expand the use of volunteers and offer opportunities for the people to learn and expand their talents, and increase their usefulness as involved citizens and

Whereas, volunteering continues to strengthen Colorado by building community improving the duality of life, enhancing citizenship, bettering cooperation and connections among diverse peoples and groups, and

Whereas, the leadership of the United States and the State of Colorado have called for increased volunteering amount its citizenry; and

Whereas, to honor the paid and unpaid volunteer executive directors, administrators, supervisors, coordinators, and crew leaders who give extensively of themselves in their diligent balancing to meet the needs of volunteers and the missions of their agencies, and

Whereas, in recognition and honor of all organizational and agencies that strengthen the State of Colorado through their commitments and the tapping of volunteer talents, and in honor of all the dedicated Colorado citizens who accept the challenges and rewards of volunteering and managing volunteers.

Therefore, I, Bill Owens, Governor of the State of Colorado, do hereby proclaim Wednesday, October 9, 2002,
