Your Network Doesn't Need a Web Site

Your DOVIA, AVA or other VPM networking association can have a web presence without commissioning its own site.  Many on line community sites provide you with free space and tools already built in.  Check out these great examples:

Yahoo! Clubs
Yahoo! Clubs offers a message board, calendar and even a way to send invitations to members.

  • DOVIA Washington (State)
    http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/doviawashington
  • St. Paul (Minnesota) DOVIA
    http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/stpauldovia
  • eGroups
eGroups (soon to be part of Yahoo!) not only allows your members to get announcements and discuss the topics of the day, they also have a calendar, file storage,  polling , chat and more.

  • DOVIA of King County (Washington State)
    http://www.egroups.com/group/DOVIA-KingCounty
  • DOVIA Silicon Valley (California) (in addition to their web site)
    http://www.egroups.com/group/dovia-sv
  • Excite Communities
Excite Communities allow similar activity to eGroups without the email.

  • International Volunteer Program Manager Appreciation Dau
    http://clubs.excite.com/welcome/main?cid=.iIqW6Sok2JR&aid=22
  • Check these out to see if one is a good fit for your group!
