Originally
called DOVIAs, DOVs, Volunteer Coordinator Roundtables, etc., we now
use the generic term Professional Networks to refer to these groups
of volunteer managers. These organizations may be formal or
informal, small or large, and exist in many local communities as
well as at the state/provincial, regional and national levels.
This section of the AVA website
will offer a comprehensive collection of information about and
for Professional Networks. The goal is to strengthen and support
those groups that already exist, and assist those of you who wish to
start a network in your area.
AVA also offers
networks the option of affiliating with us in a mutually beneficial
relationship. Leaders of AVA Affiliated Networks may access
additional resources on this site. Check for more details about how
to become an Affiliated
Network. |
A prototype of this new section of our web
site was shown recently at our annual conference.
Based on the valuable comments we received,
we are currently re-working the content.
The Professional Networks
Section — which has a public and an Affiliates only area — premiers
in
December 2000.
